Be Strong and Courageous and Face the Bears.

Black Bear waltzing through our backyard

We live in a forest so seeing a bear waltz through our backyard is not unusual. Some years we see many more than one. This guy was number five the year I took this picture.

They say when you encounter a bear in the wild you should make a lot of noise, look tall, stand your ground, and face the bear, but do not run! Ever!

When I face “bears” in my life, I find it easy to make a lot of noise, it’s also easy to run. It’s so much harder to stand still and face the “bear.”

Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
